A large and international structure
Thermotraffic is a 100% subsidiary of the Nichirei Corporation. We aim to offer a seamless, end-to-end multi-temperature warehousing and logistics chain. In doing so we provide services to importers, manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers and distributors. Rigorous control for customer satisfaction
As Quality Assurance Controller at Wrexham, you are an important part of the site supervisory team. This means that you are responsible for compliance with all technical policies and procedures so that we assure food safety, product quality and technical integrity. It’s a role that requires a real focus on process control and customer satisfaction so that we reduce complaints through review and trend analysis. You also communicate effectively with the operations teams and drive continuous improvement by working with all other departments.
Your day-to-day tasks include:
• Maintain our compliance with the company HACCP based quality system.
• Ensure that the validation and verification of all key processes is in place and always adhered to.
• Audit warehouse activities including the identification, segregation and traceability of products.
• Provide technical guidance, training and support to other departments, developing awareness and understanding of technical issues.
• Work towards product, process and environmental improvements to meet customer and legislative requirements as well as internal KPIs.
It is important that you communicate with customers and statutory bodies as you prepare for factory visits and audits, providing the necessary information and taking corrective actions where necessary. You also provide technical performance reports to the Head of Technical and Site Manager. And, looking to the future, you investigate and evaluate options for new technology.

The more technical requirements are:
• Experience in a Quality role at a factory team level within the food industry, preferably also experience with frozen and chilled foods.
• Preferably an HACCP qualification.
• Working knowledge of BRC standard, Policies/ Codes of Practice for some of the major UK retailers, food legislation, and food hygiene.
• Able to deliver internal audit training.
• Excellent spoken and written English.
