A cool logistics role. Perform outstanding UK-wide transport planning so that we deliver great customer service.

Thermotraffic is a leading international supplier of end-to-end, highly specialized cold chain logistics. Are you someone with the skills and experience to act as a Transport Planner who can ensure the smooth running of this complex operation? Would you like to be part of a friendly and growing team where everyone is encouraged to develop their skills and career? If so, please read on to find out more about this role and life at Thermotraffic.

Let’s move it, move it, move it!

Reporting to the Team Leader, your core responsibility is to arrange collections and deliveries for the whole of our UK network. Time is everything so you need to effectively plan and manage all jobs, and your own time.

In doing so you:

  • Act as the main contact for customers, hauliers, suppliers and internal departments such as Warehouse and Customer Service;

  • Ensure that all compliance processes are followed without fail and in line with legal requirements;

  • Use IT software to plan deliveries with hauliers, negotiate rates and charge additional fees to customers.

You also assist with all other aspects of the transport operation as required. This includes helping us to win new business so that we generate additional revenue and maximise vehicle utilization. As this is a transport role, from time to time the normal 08:30 – 17:30 will not apply and additional tasks will be required outside of the normal working hours, such as phone calls and emails to deal with potential issues with deliveries.

A large and international structure

Thermotraffic is a 100% subsidiary of the Nichirei Corporation. Our objective is to offer a seamless, end-to-end multi-temperature warehousing and logistics chain. In doing so we provide services to importers, manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers and distributors. You will therefore be working within a substantial and proven organization that offers all the resources necessary to do your job to the best of your ability.

The Thermotraffic offer

Thermotraffic takes pride in creating a friendly and informal working atmosphere where everyone looks out for each other. Other benefits include:

You also possess real commercial instincts and display a strong team ethic. Above all, you are someone who can interact effectively with countless moving parts – and people – at the heart of a sophisticated and nationwide logistics operation.

The other baseline requirements are:

  • 5 A to C grade GCSEs;

  • 2 years of Transport Planning experience;

  • Highly IT literate with a strong knowledge of driver hours, tachograph and WTD legislation.

  • Strong administrative skills to ensure all tasks and work are completed correctly.

  • Ability to react to a fast-changing environment

  • Knowledge of Reefer transport is desirable.
