A large and international structure
Thermotraffic is a 100% subsidiary of the Nichirei Corporation. Our objective is to offer a seamless, end-to-end multi-temperature warehousing and logistics chain. In doing so we provide services to importers, manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers and distributors. You will therefore be working within a substantial and proven organization that offers all the resources necessary to do your job to the best of your ability.
A clean machine
The role of Site Cleaner at Thermotraffic is extremely important to our operations and reputation. Your core function, therefore, is to make sure that all areas of the Bury St Edmunds site are ultra-clean and hygienic. You also keep complete records of all cleaning activities and ensure that all cleaning chemicals are stored in the designated areas. At all times, the objective is a site that meets the standards of any internal/external housekeeping inspection.
To make this happen you:
• Work according to cleaning schedules and the standards demanded by Thermotraffic and its customers;
• Work with mechanical handling equipment (including Scissor lift) where necessary and where you are authorised to do so;
• Ensure the safe and accurate handling of stock and equipment, with zero handling errors/omissions and no damage to product or equipment;
• Perform the de-stuffing of containers and topping up of pallets;
• Ensure that products are placed and stored correctly.
It is essential that you maintain timely and open communications with customers and colleagues, advising on any necessary changes to the frequency of cleaning and changes to schedules. In doing so you contribute to an outstanding team spirit and work towards positive customer feedback.

Maintaining a clean site is a top priority for Thermotraffic and you will be given all the tools and support you need to do a great job. In return you bring the willingness to work in a cold store environment along with the accuracy and numeracy necessary to understand instructions and implement procedures that meet company and customer requirements.
The other baseline requirements are:
• Previous experience of warehousing, distribution/logistics is an advantage;
• Experience of working in the cold storage industry is desirable but not essential;
• Effective spoken and written communication skills;
• Ideally you hold appropriate mechanical handling certificates and experience, but we will provide training as necessary;
• Although your standard day shift is 06.00 to 14.30 hours, you need to be flexible as your hours will sometimes change in response to business needs.
