A large and international structure
Thermotraffic is a 100% subsidiary of the Nichirei Corporation. We work closely with other members of the Nichirei group such as Norish and Kevin Hancock Ltd to offer a seamless, end-to-end multi-temperature warehousing and logistics chain. In doing so we provide services to importers, manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers and distributors. You will therefore be working within a substantial and proven organization that offers all the resources necessary to do your job to the best of your ability.
An exciting opportunity to shape the future of a forward-thinking company
As the Head of Business Transformation & IT you perform two critical functions.
Firstly, as Head of Business Transformation, you envisage and oversee large-scale changes within our organisation, building a new Business Transformation capability and working with a variety of stakeholders to implement new strategies, processes and technologies.
This requires you to look holistically at business processes to ensure continuous improvement and transformation for business operations involving road transportation, cold storage, and import and export handling in the Netherlands, Belgium and the UK. Within this process, you are responsible for redesigning and implementing end-to-end operational processes from quote, booking, collection and delivery and invoicing to achieve and sustain operational excellence.
Secondly, as Head of IT, you lead a team of four dedicated IT professionals, ensuring the technical capabilities for success and growth by managing and developing the IT function, including IT innovation, security and governance.
Detailed tasks include:
- Investigating and developing a blueprint of current work processes and identifying focus areas for process re-design including digitalization and automation opportunities;
- Performing gap analysis on the business’s IT technology and the IT team, making recommendations for change or transformation;
- Harmonizing, optimizing and standardizing the IT landscape and business IT processes including communication tools;
- Establishing relevant performance metrics to measure progress against goals;
- Training and coaching employees on new business processes, tools, and systems;
- Developing and implementing change management plans to help employees.
At all times you collaborate with process owners to facilitate the design, documentation, testing and embedding of all changes in a transparent and controlled manner. At the same time, you facilitate sound problem-solving and decision-making through the engagement of key stakeholders.

The formal requirements are:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business or Computer Science;
- Experience with large-scale business transformation projects;
- Experience in IT infrastructure, applications, data warehousing, architecture and networking, cloud platforms and technologies;
- Independent, results-oriented, and analytical approach;
- Project management, Six Sigma or Lean or Scrum certification;
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
